Sauna Restaurant KAIHU to be open in Mikkelipuisto.

Experience the perfect sauna experience in a stunning lakeside setting. The saunas, USVA and KAISLA, offers a gentle and relaxing heat. The proximity to the water floods in through the windows and calms the mind. It feels as though time stands still. Between sauna sessions, you can enjoy a moment in the heated outdoor pool or refresh yourself in the glittering lake water. In the winter, the bravest can take a dip in the ice-cold water. In summertime, you can linger on the downstairs terrace sunbeds and admire the breathtaking view. After the sauna, you can enjoy drinks, light snacks, and relax by the fireplace in the lounge bar. The unobstructed view of the surrounding waters provides a direct connection to nature.

In summer time, the rooftop terrace is the perfect spot to spend beautiful summer days or evenings with friends. Refreshing drinks, coffee, and light bites are available on the rooftop terrace.

Sustainability

Responsibility and respect for the surrounding nature have been the guiding principles throughout the planning and execution of the project.

The building's wooden architecture and timeless design blends seamlessly with the lush lakeside landscape. The structure is made from Finnish Cross-Laminated Timber and constructed on a concrete pontoon foundation, creating a unique, floating composition. The ecological Sature decking on the terraces is made from certified Finnish pine, and the sauna benches are crafted from Accoya wood, which is responsibly sourced from PEFC- and FSC-certified forests. The built-in furnitures are made of wood, with paper composite used in some pieces, made from 100% recycled paper. The WC fixtures are by the Finnish company Woodio and are made from eco-friendly wood composite. The sauna stoves and the fireplace in the downstairs lounge are from the Tulikivi collection.
